Active Ferrite Rod Antenna for HF by OH7SVThe red connector is for an optional external antenna wire and the black connector is for a ground wire. The red is wired to secondary winding and the black is connected to the circuit ground plane.http://www.saunalahti.fi/hohtola/ham/active-ferrite-rod-antenna/active-ferrite-rod-antenna.html
Active Ferrite Rod Antenna by OH2NLTMatti OH7SV did some tests to find out if Active Ferrite Rod antenna can be build for 80 / 40 Meter ham band reception.I did boxed version of this antenna for practical tests. Antenna construction presented with few pictures.http://www.kolumbus.fi/juha.niinikoski/Ferrite_antenna/Ferrite_antenna.htm
Ferrite rod RX antenna for 80 meter band by OH7SVThis ferrite rod antenna is a quick and dirty project. Although it looks very attractive it is not very sensitive. I recommend you to add a peamplifier with a gain of e.g. 20 dB, otherwise you can listen only strong stations.http://www.saunalahti.fi/~hohtola/ham/ferrite-rod-antenna/ferrite-rod-ant-for-80m.htm
